If you are looking to have a wander around the village, enjoy an ice cream or coffee, and visit a few shops, I would give yourself 2 hours.

If you are also looking to include a meal at one of the pubs or restaurants, I would give yourself 3 hours.

The two small white sandy beaches and surrounding harbour are beautiful, and on a nice summers day you can easily spend the whole day here. High tide in the harbour is especially special.

If possible, try not to drive into the actual village itself, the roads are very narrow and not great if you meet head on traffic.

The best place to park is somewhere along the free parking bays on the road between Newlyn and Mousehole, and then walk in. Failing that, you can park in the car park on the left side just before you enter the village, or the North Quay car park in the village itself, and to the left side of the harbour. Spaces here are very limited.

As with all small Cornish villages, it gets very busy during peak times of the year, so give yourself plenty of time to find parking.

Mousehole is one of those rare places that genuinely lives up to the photos. The tight curve of the stone harbour wall, fishing boats gently bobbing on clear water, and rows of granite cottages stacked along the shoreline create that classic, postcard Cornish scene — but it never feels artificial.

At high tide, the harbour fills with calm, turquoise water that’s perfect for reflections and swimming. At low tide, you see more of the working character of the village — boats resting on the sand and rock pools appearing along the edges. Golden hour is when it really shines; as the sun dips, the harbour glows and the whole place takes on this warm, timeless feel.

And despite its popularity, Mousehole hasn’t lost its authenticity. It’s still a working harbour, still full of character, and still quietly magical — especially if you wander the narrow lanes or sit by the water and just let the pace slow down.

Coasteering is an adventurous outdoor activity that combines swimming, climbing, scrambling, and jumping along a coastline. Participants move through rocky shorelines, cliffs, and sea caves, often navigating waves, pools, and coves, while staying close to the water. Unlike traditional rock climbing or swimming, coasteering blends both, allowing you to explore coastal terrain in a dynamic and exciting way.

It’s usually done with safety gear, including wetsuits, helmets, and buoyancy aids, and is guided by experienced instructors to ensure safety while making the experience fun, challenging, and adrenaline-filled.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants, we have minimum age requirements in place in line with governing guidelines and safety protocols.

For Group Coasteer sessions, the minimum age is 10 years.

For Private and Family Coasteer sessions, the minimum age is 6 years.

Ages will be checked prior to the session to ensure all participants meet the requirements. These guidelines help us provide a safe, fun, and appropriate adventure for everyone taking part.

All participants must be confident swimmers to take part in coasteering. This activity involves moving through the sea, swimming short distances, and navigating coastal features, so being able to swim comfortably in open water is essential for safety and enjoyment throughout the session.

When coasteering, it’s essential to wear appropriate clothing and footwear to keep you safe and comfortable. All participants must bring suitable footwear that can be used in the ocean, such as trainers or thick-soled wetsuit boots. Flimsy shoes like flip-flops, sandals, or lightweight beach shoes are not acceptable, as they do not provide enough grip or protection on slippery rocks.

If you have your own thick, full-length winter wetsuit (5mm), you are more than welcome to use it; otherwise, we will supply a wetsuit for you. Helmets and buoyancy aids are provided and are mandatory to wear during the session.

Please note: failure to bring suitable footwear may result in being unable to take part in the session, with no refund given.

The safety of our customers and guides is always our top priority. In the event that weather conditions pose a danger—such as extremely strong winds, large or hazardous waves, or other unsafe sea or coastal conditions—we will cancel the session and contact you promptly to arrange a suitable alternative date and time for your session.

Please note that coasteer sessions are not cancelled due to rain or moderate wind. Only when conditions meet the safety criteria outlined above will we cancel a session. This ensures that sessions can go ahead wherever safely possible, so you can still enjoy your adventure even in typical Cornish weather.

Please note that sessions cancelled at very short notice, or where participants do not attend their booked session (no-shows), cannot be refunded. This is due to the advance planning required, including staff allocation, equipment preparation, and venue logistics.
